Boston, Mass.- The Lady Pioneers took the court bright and early yesterday, still searching for their first win in the CAC classic in Boston, Mass. CRC was slotted with a matchup against host team Fisher College to crank up day two of play. After a tough day of action where the Pioneers dropped both matches, CRC found the win column against Fisher College as the Pioneers swept the Falcons three sets to none. The Lady Pioneers were finally able to link together those crucial rally wins late in the set and stop the opponents' attempt to counter that they had been missing in their first two matches, with a set one win of 25-19. CRC easily took care of the hosting Falcons in set two as the Pioneers' offensive attack came to life and left little doubt with a 25-11 win, which they carried into the final set with CRC finishing off Fisher College with a 9-point win of 25-16 in set 3. Jillian Glasgow kept her double-double streak alive with her 3rd straight game as she ended with 10 digs and 12 assists. CRC had a 7 Pioneers produce a kill in the sweep with Hannah Halverson leading the way with 9. Halverson also led the team in digs with 21.

CRC's second and final matchup of the classic was a rematch against the Conquistadors of FNU. The Conquistadors defeated CRC on Friday in their second contest after 4 sets. With revenge on their minds, the Pioneers strived to best FNU in the rematch and would strike gold with an exciting 5-set victory over the Conquistadors. With this victory, CRC ended their time in Boston with two wins and two losses. FNU won the opening set of the rematch but it would be no cakewalk with the Pioneers matching the Conquistador attack. The Pioneer luck would eventually run out as CRC fell with a score of 27-25 in extra frames. CRC won set two after the second fierce battle, 25-23, but would immediately turn around and play their worst set of the matchup by falling in set three to FNU 25-12. Now behind 2 sets to 1, Crowley's Ridge dug deep and snuck past Florida National with a huge set 4 win of 25-23 forcing a decisive set 5 where the Pioneers edged the competition by beating Florida National in extra frames 16-14, claiming their revenge. Emi Elms proved vital in the thriller as she led the team with 8 kills and produced 5 blocks at the net. Kinley Matlock got down and dirty with her team-high 30-dig effort, while Jadyn Hesse passed out 18 helpers in the team's 5-set win. #GOPIONEERS
