Melbourne, AR- As Spring has officially made its appearance, Pioneer Golf picked up its swing, teeing off in Melbourne, Arkansas this morning at the Lyon College Spring Invitational. After the full day of play, CRC would shoot 43 over par, placing them in 5th overall.
Denton Reiley, Head Coach Adam Meeker's newest addition to the team, would lead the Pioneers after the opening day with the freshman ending tied for fourth overall being +4 over par in his collegiate debut. CRC's next three golfers finished within one stroke of each other as team co-captain and senior Creston Sweet finished with CRC's second-best score of +12 over par placing him tied for 24th individually after the opening day. Sophomore Walker Hibbs followed Sweet by coming in at +13 over par and tied for 26th individually before Sweet's co-captain and fellow senior Isaac Langley would cross the finish line in fourth position for CRC with his +14 over par effort, placing him 30th overall. CRC's third senior golfer, Matt Crabtree, would bring up the rear for the Pioneers as the Bono, Arkansas native shot +23 over par and sits tied for 35th.
Maddie Minyard and Shelby Razer once again teed off in the individual bracket in the women's division. After the opening day, Maddie Minyard would finish ahead of the dynamic duo with Minyard shooting +28 over par, placing her 13th place overall with Shelby Razer sitting in 23rd place being +53 over par.
Pioneer Golf will wrap up its first Spring tournament tomorrow with a final eighteen holes. #GOPIONEERS
