Northern New Mexico- 89

Paragould, Ark.- The Lady Pioneers took to the court after their 13-day break from action as they hosted CAC  opponent, Northern New Mexico College in the Carter Activities Center earlier this evening. The Lady Pioneers entered the contest one game under the .500 mark in both their overall season record of (8-9) and their conference record of (2-3). After tonight's contest, CRC would be handed their 7th loss at home and fall to (2-4) in the conference as the Eagles claimed the CAC matchup with an 18-point win. In tonight's contest, it would not be a photo finish as the opening three minutes of the play determined the outcome of the game. The Lady Eagles of  NNMC started the matchup with sinking back-to-back three balls which steamrolled into a steep 15-0 run in the opening minutes of action. Ansley Dawson would get the Lady Pioneers on the board at the 7:03 mark in the first quarter but painfully for Pioneer fans, CRC would never bridge the gap. CRC didn't help their cause as the Lady Pioneers produced a season-high 24 turnovers which only aided the Lady Eagles' effort. Crowley's Ridge's bench did come through for the team in green as Kiyuana Foster and Jordan Rasmussen each produced double-digit points from the reserve tank. Foster finished second on the team in scoring with 15 points and co-led in rebounds with 7 while Rasmussen added a respectable 10 points and 5 rebounds. Senior PG Travia Woodruff led the Pioneers in the loss with another double-double tally for the season with her team-high 11 assists and team-high 17 points.

Up Next: The Lady Pioneers look to bounce back on the road in Little Rock, Ark. as they keep the conference play going with a rescheduled matchup against Arkansas Baptist College on Wednesday, January 31st. #GOPIONEERS
