Women's basketball headed to Columbus, Mississippi to take on the NCAA DIII Lady Owls of Mississippi University for Women earlier this evening. The Pioneers entered the matchup on a two-game losing streak after going winless in the CAC Classic at Northern New Mexico College. Their losing streak would be snapped as the Pioneers defeated the Owl 84-67.

Columbus, MS- The Pioneer offensive attack came out ready to roll as CRC produced their highest-scoring quarter to kick off the game. The team in green had a familiar face step back on the court this evening. Trivia Woodruff made her season debut by entering the game and quickly dishing out an assist to Brinley Morgan to tie the game,  8-8 at the 5:24 mark. This would become a continuous thing as this duo would link up several more times throughout the game. The Pioneers put up a stout 28-points this quarter ending it ahead 28-20. CRC would extend their lead going into the second quarter with Woodruff sinking a free throw and then going back-to-back with Claire Bellers with a layup each increasing the lead to 33-20. Woodruff would collect two more assists as she would link up again with hot-shooting Brinley Morgan, as Morgan knocked down her 5th and 6th three-ball of the night. Reigiana Ward would join Morgan by hitting her own three-ball, this one right before the half. Pioneers enter the break ahead, 50-35. When play resumed Hunter Gibson got things going by knocking down two shots from the charity stripe. As hard as the Pioneers' attack was, the Owls found the courage and would produce a 9-1 run, cutting the Pioneers' lead to ten, 54-44, with 5:39 in the third. The Owls would chip away and end the quarter trailing 8, 63-55. MUW continued to press the attack as they busted out a 5-0 run, dwindling the Pioneers' lead to a one-possession game, 63-60 with 8:40 in the 4th. Hunter Gibson quenched the fire from the Owls as she answered their run with back-to-back buckets making it 68-60. To ensure the win the dynamic duo linked up one final time as Woodruff fed Morgan her 7th three-pointer of the night. The Pioneers outscored the Owls  21-12 in the final quarter. CRC wins 84-67.
