Lady Pioneers Win on Homecoming

PARAGOULD, AR - The Crowley's Ridge College Lady Pioneers etch big win on Homecoming day against Ecclesia College, 87-36.

The Lady Pioneers had a slow start, but finished strong on Saturday's match up. CRC had a few early turnovers in the first quarter that led to the slow start, but momentum soon changed with the buzzer beater three-point bucket to end the quarter by Elly Burrell.

Crowley's Ridge seemed to catch fire from deep by answering with back to back threes from Chelsie Spence and Emily Eaker early in the second quarter.

The Lady Pioneers went in leading the Lady Royals 35-21 at the half, and came out strong and determined to finish the game with that same mindset. Elly Burrell had a big blocked shot to kick off the third quarter, which led to another three-pointer from Spence. This was followed by a few quick steals, which turned into scores from Alexus Taylor to increas the Pioneer lead to seal the game. CRC went on to win 87-36.

The top scorer for the Lady Pioneers was Elly Burrell with 16 points, seven rebounds, and four blocks. Not far behind was Chelsie Spence with 15 points and four rebounds. Nakeeva Brandon contributed 15 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks.

Crowley's Ridge will close out the season on Tuesday, February 13th at home against College of the Ozarks for senior night.
