CRC Lady Pioneers Fall to #4 Vanguard University

PARAGOULD, AR - Crowley's Ridge College could not get anything going against the #4 team in the nation, Vanguard University as the Lady Pioneers fall 80-44 at home.

Crowley's Ridge showed fight in the first quarter, but Vanguard continued to pound the ball inside and force turnovers on the defensive end to stretch the lead each quarter.

The Lady Pioneers had a rough night offensively, only shooting 28.3% from the floor, 28.0% from the three-point line, and 41.2% from the free throw line. The CRC defense forced 20 turnovers, but committed 26 of their own.

Crowley's Ridge found themselves out-sized underneath as the Lady Lions won the rebounding battle 40-28.

Vanguard was led by senior Amber Alexander who put up 22 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and added three blocks.

Crowley's Ridge was led in scoring by senior Emily Eaker with 14 points and senior Chelsie Spence added eight points.

The Lady Pioneers will travel to Conway, AR on Tuesday to face D1 opponent University of Central Arkansas (UCA).
