Siloam Springs, Ark.- Pioneer Cross Country hit the trail this morning in their third invitational of the season which stands almost exactly one month away from the American Midwest Conference Meet taking place on November 8th in Hannibal, MO. In today's Golden Eagle Invitational hosted by John Brown University, the men's team had a full squad of five where the team finished third, while the women's team had two ladies run independently.
In the men's 8k, front-runner Mark Eagleman proved to be the windbreak for the team once more as the Lawrence, Kansas native paced the squad with a time of 37:21.27. Finishing second was senior Blake Wilson with a time of 39.42.99, who smashed his last invitational finish by a time of 16:01. Taking third for the Pioneers would be Dayton Skaggs who crossed with a time of 42.51.36, narrowly missing his personnel best finish in the 8k. Fourth place was awarded to Trent Siemens, crossing at 50:35.00 with Nate Ferguson bringing up the rear for the squad with a time of 52.33.
For the women's 6k run, sophomore Laura Combs and senior Sami Tonkery represented CRC with Combs besting Tonkery with a time of 35:12.82 for 28th place as Tonkery crossed at 45:50.29 for 31st overall.
