Nelson Leads Pioneers in MBU's Spring Invitational- Wil Teague, Sports Information Director, 4/15/25

St. Louis, MO- Pioneer Golf wrapped up their final invitational before the AMC conference tournament at the start of next month. After today's final round, Hogan Nelson would emerge on top for the Pioneers, with the freshman bouncing back on day two, shaving six strokes off his round one scorecard and passing senior Hibbs as top fragger on the team. Nelson shot +12 in today's round, ending the invitational +30 through 36 holes, landing him up four slots and tied for 57th place. Senior Walker Hibbs slid back one slot, taking second on the team with the veteran running into some roadblocks in today's round. Hibbs tacked on thirteen strokes from yesterday's finish, dropping him twenty-six slots on the leaderboard, placing him +41 and in 72nd place overall. Rounding off the team on day two once more was freshman Ethan Cotter. Cotter concluded his Pioneer Golf debut by improving his time on the green, as the young Pioneer shaved off seven strokes from yesterday's finish to end the invitational +59 and in 78th place overall.
