Pioneer Golf Concludes Fall Season

Pioneer Golf Concludes Fall Season- Wil Teague, Sports Information Director, 10/1/24

Men's Golf finished up their Fall schedule this afternoon with a final round of 18 at Freed-Hardeman's Invitational. After the opening round, the Pioneers sat in 8th place as a team and would remain stationary after today's second round on the course didn't aid the Pioneer cause. The Pioneers finished the invitational with a final stroke count of 662, shooting +86 over par.

Henderson, TN- In today's round, CRC's scorecard saw some changes with freshman Landon Guion taking the lead spot. Guion who shot an 82 on day one, bettered his card by one stroke passing up Noah Alderson for the best overall team finish at +19 over par with 163 swings and in 30th overall. This marks Guion's second time being CRC's top finisher this Fall. Noah Alderson who had a fantastic opening round, ran into trouble as the day one leader led the team in the reverse category by adding a team-high 7 strokes to his game in round two. The freshman finished two strokes behind Guion at 165 or +21 over par for 34th place. Reece Kieffner followed Guion's method of action by losing strokes in round two. Kieffner shaved off three swings to improve to a scorecard of 82. The Newport native finished the Fall by placing 37th with 167 swings sitting +23 over par.  Coming in second being tied with Guion on day one was Sam Allen and at the conclusion of today's holes, the sophomore dropped to take fourth for the squad as Allen saw negative progression. Allen picked up six extra strokes this round, placing him 41st overall with a final score of 170 or +26 above par. Like yesterday, coming in fifth for the Pioneers would be senior Walker Hibbs. On the flip side, the veteran produced the best turn-around of the invitational. Hibbs dropped six strokes to finish round two with a score of 85, placing 46th being +32 over par for the event with 176 swings.

Up Next: The Pioneers will take some time off to recover and prepare for their spring season when conference play begins. Until then, FORE! #GOPIONEERS
