Pioneer Golf Competes in FHU Invitational

Pioneer Golf Competes in FHU Invitational- Wil Teague, Sports Information Director, 9/30/24

Crowley's Ridge Golf wrapped up its Fall season with a final invitational hosted by Freed-Hardeman University. The competition is set to take place today and tomorrow at the Chickasaw Golf Course in Henderson, TN. The Pioneers battled through wet playing conditions with the hurricane storms leaving the course a bit soft and spongy. With the opening round officially concluded, CRC currently sits 8th overall as a team being +40 over par with 328 total swings.

Henderson, TN- Last invitational, freshman Noah Alderson made his collegiate debut and ended his premiere with a phenomenal rebound round allowing him to secure a spot on the team's final scorecard. In today's round, the Bradford, AR native used that same momentum to claim the top spot on the day for CRC with Alderson leading the team at 79 strokes or +7 over par. Alderson currently sits 20th overall. CRC's next two finishers concluded day one all knotted up with Texans Landon Guion and Sam Allen sitting +10 with 82 strokes on their scorecard. Tomorrow the pair will duke it out for the lead spot but for now, they both sit tied for 29th overall. Lefty Reece Kieffner finished fourth on the day with the freshman totaling 85 strokes on his scorecard leaving him +13 over par and in 36th place. Lastly, lone senior Walker Hibbs brought up the rear as the Walnut Ridge, Ark. native made his final tour debut shooting 91 or +19 over par in today's eighteen.

The Pioneers look for clearer conditions tomorrow as they are set to wrap up the FHU Invitational with one last round of 18 holes, which will conclude the Pioneer Fall season. #GOPIONEERS
