Kennett, MO- FORE! With school well underway, CRC Golf picked up its swing by opening its 2024-25 season at the Williams Baptist University Fall Invitational hosted at Kennett Country Club. The season-opening invitational is set to be a 36-hole competition and after today's opening 18, the Pioneers find themselves 7th overall being +49 over par as a team for a total of 337 swings.

In the season-opening round, CRC had five new faces representing the Ridge including four freshmen and one sophomore who all made their Pioneer debut. Leading the pack are two freshmen, Reece Kieffner from Newport, AR, and Landon Guion from New Waverly, TX who both shot +8 over on the round, book-marking them 28th overall in the invitational. Coming in third for CRC would be lone sophomore and Lone Star state native, Sam Allen, as the Lubbock, TX native shot +14 over par which places him tied for 37th. Finishing fourth on the team and rounding off today's team total score was freshman Mitchell Flowers as the New Johnsonville, TN native finished +19 over par in his round, landing him four spots behind Allen at 41st overall. Lastly, freshman Hogan Nelson finished in the alternate spot with the Sunnyvale Texan topping the round  +23rd over par and in 45th individually.

The Pioneers will tee off in their final 18 tomorrow morning, wrapping up their season debut. Coach Adam Meeker commented- "We're a young team. We've got to get these new jitters out of the way and we'll be fine. We have another 18 to play tomorrow to make up some ground and lose some strokes. I'm fully confident my guys will do just that."
