Kennett, MO- CRC Golf opened their Fall season once more with the Williams Baptist University Invitational hosted in Kennett, MO earlier this today. After one full day of play the Pioneers currently sit in 5th place with a team score of 312 strokes.
CRC's team captains paved the way on day one as senior Isaac Langley led the Pioneers by ending the day shooting par (72) and is currently in a five-way tie for 2nd overall in the tournament. Co-captain and fellow senior Creston Sweet followed Langley's efforts by wrapping up the opening day with a score of (75), landing himself in a good position to start day two, in a four-way tie for 5th overall in the invitational. Coming in the middle of the pack would be sophomore Bradie Gunther. Gunther ended the round placing himself 7 strokes behind Sweet with a score of (82) and tied for 10th overall. New Pioneer Walker Hibbs would be right behind Gunther as the transfer sophomore sits in 11th place overall with (83) strokes in his CRC debut. Lastly, Matt Crabtree completed the five-man team effort as the senior shot a (95) and is tied for 17th overall.
Lady Pioneer Golf teed off with the men's team this morning with former Armorel High School teammates and now CRC Pioneer teammates, Maddie Minyard and Shelby Razer taking to the course. Both ladies competed in the individual bracket where Minyard, now a sophomore, led the two as she finished the day shooting a 104 placing herself 15th overall. Freshman Shelby Razer, in her collegiate debut, claimed two spots behind Minyard in 17th overall on 117 strokes.
The Pioneers will wrap up the season-opening invitational tomorrow as they play their final 18 holes in Kennett, MO.
