The CRC Pioneer Golf team teed off this afternoon in San Antonio, Texas in the CAC tournament, and placed themselves in a good position for a top-three finish. A Team effort of 653 strokes lands CRC behind 76 strokes from the leading team, Victoria (BC), and in third place overall in the tournament.
San Antonio, TX- Freshman Joseph Ramsey led CRC after the 36-hole day where he shot a day low 78 in round one. Ramsey made two birdies in the round on holes 14 and 18. Ramsey added 4 strokes to his game in the second round as he broke into the 80 with an 82. The young Pioneer sunk one more birdie on the day collecting it on hole 4. Ramsey ended with 160 swings on day one and in 13th place overall
Andrew Lee came in second for the Pioneers as Lee was also in the 70s during the first 18 holes with a 79-stroke effort. Lee matched Ramsey's birdie game by sinking two on the back 9 on holes 13 and 18. The senior added 4 strokes in the second 18 ending round 2 with an 84. Lee did manage to sink one birdie on hole 17 in the second round. Lee currently sits 15th overall with 163 swings.
Creston Sweet rallied third overall on the day by shooting in the low 80s in both rounds. Sweet ended round one with an 83 but with a strong second round Sweet was able to shave 2 strokes off his round one score ending the round with an 81. Sweet produced two birdies on holes 9 and 18 placing him tied for 16th overall with 164 strokes.
Bradie Gunther brought up the rear for the Pioneers only being 6 strokes behind team leader Ramsey. Gunther shot an 84 in round one but lost 2 strokes in the second round shooting an 82 thanks to a three-birdie effort in the second round on holes 4,5, and 17. Gunther sits 20th overall with 166 strokes.

While the Men's team shot 36 holes today the Women's Teams were only scheduled for 18. After one round Maddie Minayrd currently sits 26th overall as she shot a 103 for the day.
