Pioneers send of senior Gregg with blowout victory

PARAGOULD, Ark. – After a season of injuries and struggles the Pioneers of Crowley's Ridge College ended their conference regular-season schedule with a 106-67 win over Bacone (Okla.) College and secured their spot in the Continental Athletic Conference basketball tournament.

CRC (4-20, 2-6) was led by freshman Braxton Cousins with 25 points on a perfect 9-9 shooting afternoon. Fellow freshman B.J. Johnson came off the bench for a 20 point and nine-rebound effort in the win. Senior J.M. Gregg finished his Senior Day Celebration with 16 points.

CRC was efficient on the offensive end against Bacone (2-25, 1-8) in the afternoon, handing out 30 assists on their 41 made baskets. Bo Roberson led CRC with 12 assists in the win and freshman J.D. Smith handed out seven assists of his own.

Crowley's Ridge will hit the road for two non-conference road games to wrap up the 2021-22 regular season. They first will visit Baptist Bible (Mo.) College on Tuesday, February 15 before visiting Welch (Tenn.) College on Thursday, February 17. Both games begin at 7:00 p.m.
