Pioneer baseball earned its seventh win of the season, splitting with Champion Christian College in today's non-conference doubleheader. 

Game 1

Crowley's Ridge- 1

Champion Christian- 5

Hot Springs, Ark.- In game one, the Tigers took the contest, pushing 5 unanswered runs to the plate after Rilyn Coleman brought Clay Burgess to the plate with an RBI single to right field in the top of the second. The Pioneers mustered 4 hits in the contest: Adonis Thomas, Clay Burgess, Coleman, and Matthew Parker each had a hit in the game. The Pioneers abandoned  7 runners on the base paths in the contest. Elijah Mayfield took the loss in his first start of the season, surrendering 3 runs off 5 hits while walking 4 in 4.2 innings. 

Game 2

Crowley's Ridge- 1

Champion Christian- 0

Hot Springs, Ark.- Crowley's Ridge claimed game two with Scott City, MO native Brayden Mashek winning the pitchers duel, going the distance for the shutout win. The freshman surrendered just 3 hits in his 7.0 innings on the bump, walking 3 and striking out 3 Tiger batters along the way. The Pioneers scored one run and gathered 5 hits in the win. Matthew Parker led the day, going 1 for 3 with an RBI single up the middle in the top of the second, scoring Brylan Honeycutt, who doubled to left center two batters earlier. Trey Drake, Adonis Thomas, and James Wilson claimed the remaining three Pioneer hits, with each Pioneer singling in the contest. 

Up Next: The Pioneers are scheduled to host Harris-Stowe State University at home at Pioneer Park this upcoming weekend for a four-game conference series starting Friday at 12:00 PM. #GOPIONEERS
