The Crowley's Ridge Pioneers, currently on a two-game win streak, traveled down to Laurel, MS for a three-game series against the Chargers of Southeastern Baptist College. In today's nine-inning contest, the hosting Chargers would come out on top by besting the Pioneers with a score of 2-0.

Game One: (9-innings)

Crowley's Ridge- 0

Southeastern Baptist- 2

Laurel, MS- This weekend's baseball series opened with strong pitching performances from both sides with the game only seeing two runners make the round trip on the bases in nine innings of action. Jack Roney dealt all 8.0 innings for the Pioneers where the RHP only surrendered three hits to the Chargers' offense. Southeastern Baptist claimed the win by pushing two runs across Roney and the Pioneer defense with their first in the third inning with a ground-out to second baseman Chance Arender and their second on a sacrifice fly to centerfielder Kyle Russell in the sixth. These two runs proved to be the vital difference that separated the victors from the runner-up as the Pioneers were held scoreless in the contest despite outhitting SBC six to three. Crowley's Ridge left ten runners stranded on base in the contest. Left-hander Andrew Brown led the Pionner offense by going (2-4). Adonis Thomas went (1-4) with a double in the loss. Roney's final stat line consisted of 8.0 innings, three hits, two runs (one earned) two walks, and five strikeouts.

Up Next: The Pioneers look to claim the series by sweeping the Charges in tomorrow's doubleheader. The first pitch is set to be thrown at 12:00 PM. #GOPIONEERS
