Trinity International- 3
CRC baseball had home games scheduled for this weekend at Pioneer Park, but with the downpour of rain headed this way, they were moved to the USA Stadium Complex in Millington, TN. The Pioneers faced Trinity International University in game one, a team they were scheduled to open their season against but again, had to be rescheduled due to the rain earlier this month. Trinity International (0-3) on the year looked to gain their first win over the Pioneers. CRC being (1-2) on the season looked to break even. Both teams were strong on the pitcher's mound as there were only 9 hits in the contest. Senior Corbett Seib would toe the rubber for the Pioneers, throwing 5.2 innings and allowing just 3 hits from TUI, and sending 10 back to the dugout with strikeouts. The Pioneer's bats outdid the Trojans with 6 hits, but the Trojans would be more efficient as they scraped three runs across on just three hits. Adonis Thomas held the spotlight in the line-up going 3-4.

Game two
Crowley's Ridge- 2
Baptist Bible- 9
In game two, the Pioneers looked to rebound against the Patriots of Baptist Bible. As the Pioneers took the field, Andrew Brown would get the call and take the mound for CRC. Brown retired the first three batters with ease letting the Pioneer sticks get their turn to swing. CRC went to work and got their leadoff man on by Matt Parker taking one for the team on an HBP. CRC moved him over with a bunt, but Parker would halt at a second as the Pioneers couldn't bring him 'round. The top of the second is where CRC ran into trouble. Baptist Bible rocketed a triple to the right to start the inning and a series of unfortunate events unfolded. Brown put the next two batters on with a walk and an HBP, the CRC defense couldn't capitalize on the grounders the Patriots put in play as three back-to-back errors saw the Pioneers fall behind 4-0 at the end of the 2nd. CRC did answer with a run in the bottom of the third, Matt Parker once again took a pitch in the box and jogged to first. Chance Arender put a ball in play down the right field line scoring a run all the while taking advantage of the throw to the plate and moving up to third. Trey Gosset took his hack the next at-bat grounding out to third but driving in the second run for the Pioneers. CRC now tails 4-2. Just as CRC seemed to cut the deficit Baptist Bible busted out 5 more runs in the top of the 5th taking a 9-2 lead. The Pioneers couldn't recover as they fell to the Patriots 9-2.
