Paragould, Ark.- Senior Jack Roney toed the rubber for the Pioneers in game three of their home weekend series against WBU, and would deliver a 6.0-inning gem, leading the Pioneers and Skipper Tray Malone to the season's first win. In Roney's outing, the Tennessean scattered 12 hits, allowing 7 runs (6 earned), walking 4, and fanning 3 to project the Pioneers on top. The Pioneer offense supported Roney with 10 runs off 8 hits, including scoring 9 combined runs in the late innings, with the Pioneers matching the Eagles with a 4-run fifth frame and then reclaiming the advantage with a 5-run sixth frame. Senior Adonis Thomas closed the contest, tossing the final inning, allowing no runs on 2 hits and striking out 1. Conner Boan led the offense going 2-4 with 3 RBIs. Paragould, Ark.- In game four of the series, the Pioneers finished one hit shy of the game three total but a rough second inning doomed the Pioneers as the Eagles attack mounted 12 runs thanks to two Pioneer mishaps in the early inning. Even more against CRC, the Eagles rattled off their second 20-hit contest of the series, adding more run support to their already spacious lead to run away with the series win. Adonis Thomas took the loss, throwing 1.2 innings, surrendering 9 runs (3 earned) off 6 hits, and striking out 1. Junior Trey Drake and Sophomore Parker Gordon led the team with 2-2 efforts at the plate.
Up Next: The Pioneers will travel to Lyon College to take on the Scots for a non-conference doubleheader on Monday, March 3rd. #GOPIONEERS
